Original stone |
b Dec 14 1821 d Feb 21 1908 This is not his original stone, but was erected years later by his grandchildren. Peter was born in Switzerland, and was an early settler in the Amazonia area. His wife, Margarithe (Gertsch) Bischoff, is also buried there, but her name was not listed on the large stone. The original tombstone of Peter Bischoff (left) has no dates or name, only the word "Father," but it is located in a line of Bischoff stones. This family were members of the then German Reformed Church (now St. John's Church of Christ). |
