NANCY ANN (REDING) COLLARD

Buried Danville Cemetery

Willis, Texas

(Originally Danville, Texas)

Nancy Ann Reding was the daughter of Iredell Reding and his first wife, Martha (Patsy) Hallum. She was born August 16, 1822, in Davidson County, Tennessee. She immigrated to Texas with her father and step-mother in 1836, first settling in what became Houston County, and later moving with them to the Danville area of Montgomery County.

On May 12, 1842, she married Jonathan Stark Collard. They had five children, including Mary Emily.

Nancy died on September 12, 1859 after a seven year bronchial illness, probably tuberculosis. Her son, Felix, wrote that she died “at the old home.”

Her death was reported in the Texas Christian Advocate.
