Assumptions about the burial location of Cynthia Ann Yarbrough Dunn
We have never found the burial location of Cynthia Ann Yarbrough Dunn.  Some source her death as 1881.  I tend to also lean towards between 1879-1881 date of death.  We do know that she was alive in 1877, as Cynthia gave birth to twins during that year.

    I was reading the archaeology report for the Yarbrough Cemetery and thought I would throw this question at you.

Reguarding Grave 6

Judging from the brow ridges, configuration of the mastoids, gracile nature of the long bones, shape of the mandible, and shape of the greater sciatic notches, the INDIVIDUAL WAS A FEMALE..  All epiphses, including those of the medial ends of the clavicles, were completely fused.  Three 3rd molars were erupted and functional.  A complete lack of joint involvement and light dental attrition suggest an AGE OF late 30s to mid 40s.  Pathological thickening of the innominate were noted.

It seems possible that the woman (Grave 6) might have been AMANDA HARRISON, since she is supposed to be buried in this cemetery.  It does seem peculiar, however, when her small son is known to have been buried in the Byrne Cemetery.  The skeleton was of the proper age, since Mrs. Harrison has been reprted to have died in the 1880s which would have made her in her 40s at the time of death (United States Department of the Interior, Office of the Census 1870).

Do you sappose the grave of #6 could possibly be that of CYNTHIA ANN YARBROUGH DUNN?  It is the right age as Cynthia was born about 1838 putting her at about 42 years of age in 1879/1880.  It would make sense that she was buried in the same cemetery with her father and step mother.

I did find the following Amanda Williams Harrison born 26 Nov 1824 in Louisiana and DIED 10 SEP 1891 in McMullen County, TX , but no cemetery was given.  Amanda was married to Peter Harrison  If this is the same Amanda Harrison talked about in the report then more than likely she wasn't buried in the Yarbrough cemetery.

Whoever came up with the idea that the lady buried at Yarbrough Cemetery was Amanda Harrison was very very wrong. I think it may have been Gladys Ritter as she made a lot of mistakes. I found Mrs. Harrison on the census years after the cemetery was no longer used.
Yes, it is very likely to be the body of Cynthia Yarbrough Dunn. The reasons are:
1. Like you said, Father and step-mother were buried there.
2. Main reason - Cynthia was living with her daughter Mrs. J.M. Shelling at her husbands ranch on Opossum Creek at the eastern end of Yarbrough Bend. It would have been the closest cemetery to their home if she died 1879-1880 before the census was taken. I have been up the Frio River there when we had the boat.

Forgot to tell you that Cynthia died between 1879-1880.
She was not listed on the census (1880 McMullen) with her daughter, Mrs. Shelling.
The census records list something different on the age of these people every time.
John Dunn supposingly left the family.
