At Home Deaths:

You may notice that I list on this site people who, according to their death certificates, died somewhere other than Waverly Hills. The following paragraphs may help you to understand why I include them in this site.

It has been told time after time that under certain circumstances, terminal patients in the last stages of their disease were allowed to go home to die. It is not known if this was purely out of consideration for the patient who may be more comfortable spending their last days/hours at home with loved ones, or if it allowed a much needed bed to be freed up for another person from the ever present Waiting List. Perhaps it was a combination of the two.

It is also known that some patients could not afford to be away from work when they had families who depended on their income for survival, so arrangements were made for the patients (usually after a short stay IN the hospital) to be treated on an outpatient bases. They would simply return to the facilities as ordered for treatment, then go back home.

So as you can see, it is very likely that the patients whose death certificates were signed by known Waverly Hills staff were actually at Waverly to some capacity and therefore deserve inclusion to this site. I have statements and/or documents supporting both of these cases, and will place links to them on this page as I get them added to the website.
