The heir of William de COLEVILLE d 1230 was his brother, Robert of Auborne & Leadenham, Lincolnshire, Eng. Robert de Coleville was present at Runnymede in June 1215 for the signing of the Magna Carta. This ancient Norman name originates from the town of Coleville-Sur-Mer in Normandy, France. Meaning "Col" dark and swarthy and "ville" village or "Castle on the Hill". In 1174, Phillip De Colville was sent to Scotland as a hostage for the release of William the Lion. He apparently took up residence in Scotland and established the two noble lineage�s of Culross and Ochiltree.

John Dee Rectorship of Long Leadenham in Lincolnshire, 1566. Together with rectory of Upton-upon-Severn, in Worcestershire he received a combined income of about �80 a year.

In 1806 an Act was obtained for more effectually repairing the roads from Newark to Mansfield and Southwell, and to Leadenham Hill in Lincolnshire.
