FISHER,JUDSON A., Died October 29, 2000 at the age of 86. He was born March 3, 1914, the son of Arthur and Edith (Widder) Fisher in Baltic, Ohio. He married Beverly Ross on January 12, 1942; she preceded him in death on August 4, 1969. He graduated from Baltic High School in 1932 and was a 1936 graduate of the College of Wooster, where he majored in physics and chemistry. He did additional graduate study at the Ohio State University. In 1979, he retired after 29 years in the Cadillac Division of General Motors where he held such positions as Chief Chemist at Cadillac s Army Tank Plant and Supervisor of Materials Engineering. He was an active member of Toastmasters International for 47 years, during which time he received more than 90 awards and served in numerous leadership roles, including serving as the District Governor. In 1996, District 28 of Toastmasters International honored him for his outstanding contributions to its various programs. At the time of his death, he was a member of the Acorn Toastmasters of Royal Oak. Jud was a Mason for 62 years and held every office of the organization several times including: Worshipful Master, High Priest, Commander of the Masonic Commandery and Illustrious Master. He was the recipient of several high honors: in 1991, King of York Cross of Honor; in 1994, Order of the Purple Cross. He resided for the past year at the Michigan Masonic Home in Alma, MI. A frequent volunteer worker at the Shine Circus, Jud also participated in a number of other outreach efforts focused on youth development.
