KLADZYK, FRANKLIN JAMES "FRANK" 80, Bad Axe, a fourth generation Huron County innkeeper and founder of the Franklin Inn, Bad Axe, died September 18 at Saginaw St. Mary s Hospital. He and Marie Ziemba married in 1946 at St. Hyacinth s, Detroit. He excelled in sports, earning a baseball scholarship to Western Michigan University. He then attended Detroit College of Law while working for the Internal Revenue Service. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in December of 1941, seeing action in 1942 in landings at Guadalcanal and Tulaghi, two of the most intense island landing invasions of WWII. He was a long-time member of Verona Hills Golf Club, where he served on the board of directors. He was a former club champion and competed in numerous state amateur events in the 50 s. Mr. Kladzyk was a patron of the Orchard Lake St. Mary s Schools and was honored as an Ambassador in 1976. Mr. Russell was born October 19, 1933 in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, spent his childhood in Windsor, Ontario, Canada and moved to the Detroit area in 1950. His parents, Edmund and Simonne Russell preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Hanson. He received his tool and die journeyman status in 1959. He was a member of UAW Local 326 at the former Fisher Body Coldwater Plant in Mt. Morris from 1976 until he transferred to the Saturn Corporation in Spring Hill, TN in March of 1987; and was a member there of UAW Local 1853 and the Vision Team. He received the UAW Walter Reuther Distinguished Service Award on his retirement from Saturn Corporation in Spring Hill, TN, April 1, 1997. He was also a member of St. Catherine s Church in Columbia, TN. He was deeply loved and will be sadly missed by his wife, Marie; his children, Connie Green and husband Roland of Vancouver, WA, Edmund D. Russell and fiance Kelly Brace of Scottsdale, AZ, Karl J.
