Seeking Grandpa Carter
Anna Lou Stone born 1875 married William F. Fenn in 1893 and divorced soon
after the 1900 census because he had a second wife, Eve on the 1910
census. Nicknamed Annie Lee, she got on the train holding her infant son
Cecil Earl Carter and joined her parents in Macon GA. I have written
to Georgia and they have no record of her marriage to a Carter, yet there were
many Carters in her hometown before she left and one of them could be the one
she married. Anna's son Frank Jr. said that Cecil was only his half
brother, therefore, I need to know who Carter was. Her son was not sure of the
year of his birth so it seems to be around 1903 according to his military papers
which all seem to vary. Cecil was nicknamed Nick.
Perhaps there is a record of her divorce from Fenn and a record of her
marriage to Carter in the Alabama records.
