A short history of this unique village, which today, looks much as it did 100 years ago, and of the people who lived there during the period from 1852 to the 1940's. With rare exception, they were employees of the state prison.

                                  People - - Some people and children who lived here.

                                            State Prison - - The prison, inmates and punishment
