The Key

Moments in time, I have struggled through life

Only to wonder where I was going

Time and time again, I did think

Just take it day-by-day

This time, since I have grown older,

My life has made many changes

And it holds many things to share

Love; but only without another

Happiness; for which no one seemed to care

Commitment; for which everyone was afraid

I have locked this entirely away deep inside my heart

Hoping to one day find the holder of the key to my heart

Now, I have found you, I ask,

Do you feel the same?

Or will you turn and run?

Do tell!

My only guide through all this, has been

Our heavenly father, GOD

I pray only for happiness that I seek

And for someone to share it with me

For what I have to offer, please, tell me now

Would you stay or would you go?

Are you the holder to the key?
