My husband is the great-great nephew of Anne Davidson.
He inherited her diaries from his Uncle Angus, who was the grand-son of Anne's brother Duncan.
The diaries consist of a series of A5 leather-bound lined journals, written in
pen and ink. Anne's writing is legible and, like everyone's
varies with her mood, state of health - and how hurried she was at the
time!
James is retired after a career in the Royal Navy, farming, politics, as
Liberal, Member of Parliament (1966-1970) for West Aberdeenshire.
He also served
for 21 years as senior member of staff of the Royal Highland & Agricultural
Society of
Scotland.
James inherited the family farm of Tillychetly, near
Alford in Aberdeenshire from Duncan, his uncle (older brother of Angus and also grandson of Anne's brother) and farmed there for more than 25 years.
James was
President for six years of the UK Clan Davidson Association, which can be contacted at

We now live in Newtonmore in the central
Highlands of Scotland.

has just published his book
