Benjamin Moore Muresco Plant
Muresco®: An Early Winner
In 1883, when Benjamin Moore founded his paint company, ready-made paints were in their infancy. Since paints typically varied from one batch to another, painters could seldom predict precisely what they were getting and how well it would perform.

Benjamin Moore brought a spirit of scientific inquiry to the business, experimenting with various paint formulas to develop those he regarded as superior. Muresco® was one of his earliest successes.

The familiar Muresco® anchor promised a safe and comfortable painting experience for all.

Introduced in 1892, it was a dry mix to which the user added water and stirred to make a spreadable paint. Muresco® gained a following among professional painters and the general public thanks to its reliability and ease of application. Offered first in white, Muresco® eventually became available in scores of colors.
