They claim to have the largest collection of material relating to Dumfries &
Galloway in the world, including newspapers from 1777. They hold the 1841 c for Dumfriesshire, Kirkcudbrightshire and Wigtownshire on microfiche, plus the DGFHS transcriptions for Kirkcudbrightshire. They have the 1851 C also on microfiche for the same, but with a printed index in loose leaf form. They also have the 1891 for the same on microfiche. |
