Know all Men by these Presents, that we, Joseph R Dillingham & Martin Roof are held and firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Kentucky, in the just and full sum of fifty pounds, United States' currency, for which payment, well and truly to be made and done, we bind ourselves, our heirs &c. jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals, and dated this 10th day of August 1829. The condition of the above obligation is such, That if there should be no legal cause to obstruct a marriage shortly to be solemnized between the above bound Joseph R Dillingham and Lucinda LaRue for which a license this day issued, then the above obligation to be void; else to remain in full force and virtue in law.

These are to license and permit you to join together in the honorable estate of Matrimony, according to the rules and customs of the church of which you are reputed a member, Mr. Joseph R Dillingham who swore he was 21 years of age & Miss Lucinda Larue, stepdaughter of Martin Roof who gave consent in person he, the said Joseph R Dillingham, having given bond and security, in my office, according to law. Given under my hand, as Clerk of the County Court, for the county aforesaid, the 10th day of August 1829 and the 38th year of the commonwealth.

He married LUCINDA LARUE ROOF 16 August 1829 in Hardin County, Kentucky, STEP daughter of MARTIN ROOF and daughter of ALICE LARUE.
