Welcome

This page is dedicated to Dean.
A true friend who never knew an enemy.
He was taken from us too soon
and we will continue to miss him daily.

We little knew that morning
that God was going to call your name
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
You did not go alone;
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories,
Your love is still our guide;
And though we cannot see you,
You are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.

On Sunday morning December 3rd, we left the house about 6:30 am to all meet at Biff Burger to ride our motorcycles together for the toys for tots run. We did the run and about 12:30 left the run for Biff's a local hamburger joint to get a coke and some food. Our friend Dean age 26 was with us on his scooter. He was first at the light in the left turn lane. We were all joking around and having a wonderful time because it was a beautiful day and the ride for the toys for tots was fun. No one had any accidents or got hurt. We were at the turn lane waiting for the light to change. It was Dean, Jim, Me and Smitty with Brynn on the back riding with him. All the cars were stopped and we got the green left turn arrow. We hesitated and I remember Smitty saying what color green do you want so I remember looking left, right, left and proceeded to turn onto 49th street. Then I remember hearing Jim yell OH SHIT and I saw the Suv come thru the red light and hit him. Then the suv hit me and I went flying onto the road and landing facing the wrong way. Someone got to me and wouldn't let me get up. I yelled at Jim because I heard him talking and asked him if Dean came back and did he know we got hit. Jim didn't answer. I asked again. He now says he heard me but didn't want me to know. In my mind, Dean made it before the Suv ran the light but in reality, Dean was hit full front of the suv and tossed onto the hood, then the guy hit his brakes so hard that Dean flew off the front of the suv and the guy ran over him then he got pinned under it. That's what Jim didn't want me to know. I know I had to have seen it because I was right there but I don't remember. I am also told there were horrible screams from the guys tires as he was stopping and the impact was loud, but again, I don’t remember. Dean died at the hospital after coding 4 times. He lost most of his feet. He was burned and his chest and legs were crushed. He never knew what hit him. It took 7 men to lift the Suv off of Dean while the paramedics pulled him out. He was a great guy and will be missed by all of us. Jim took the harder hit than I did and is cut up and beat up pretty bad. We now know he has a fractured collarbone and bruised ribs and a broken little finger on his left hand, and some water on his knee and other things. I have a fractured left wrist and quite a few bumps and bruises. Jim is hurting more than me because he was hit before me by the SUV and then he hit me. The guy driving was 17 years old and had only has his license for two months. 23 witnesses at the red lights that were stopped all got out and gave statements that we had the green light and he ran his red light. Deans body was so damaged the only organ donated were his retinas. He was cremated and a memorial was held for him on Saturday December 9th. This page is dedicated to the memory of Dean. Thank you to everyone who was and has been there for us during this difficult time.
