YELLOW CREEK EMPLOYE KILLED
Charlie SHORT, Stable Boss, Victim of Monitor Car- Leaves Wife, Three Children
Charlie SHORT, age 26, stable boss at the Yellow Creek Mines, was instantly killed at noon yesterday when an empty monitor car broke loose from its fastenings, ran down the incline over his body. He was greasing the "sheves" rollers along the incline over which the cars are operated. The car became released when a bolt worked loose and hurled down the track at a high rate of speed. The body which was badly mangled was sent to the Carl Newman Undertaking establishment and prepared for burial.

The remains were shipped to Tazewell, Tenn, today the old home of deceased, and burial will take place there tomorrow. He is survived by a wife and three small children.

My note: I am not sure about the word in parenthesis. I wonder if the fella writing the article was sure because that word appeared in parenthesis in the article. I tried to copy it word for word but I couldn't make out that word for certain. Nell
