JOHN FRANKLIN WALLACE, born abt. 1847 in North Carolina, was the son of John Wallace (1811-1897) and Sarah Jones (1816-1899). His parents were both born in NC and died in Grimes Co., Texas. They're buried in Byrne Cemetery, Keith, Grimes Co., TX, which is on private property. JOHN FRANKLIN WALLACE was the sixth of eleven children.

He married NANCY CAROLINA "LINA" WEISINGER on January 26, 1870 in Walker Co., TX, daughter of Samuel Weisinger and Mary Rebecca. She was born March 1852 in the Old Danville area, Montgomery Co., TX. John and "Lina" are enumerated on the 1880 Montgomery Co., TX census, pg. 12, with two of their children. Samuel Weisinger and family are living next door. Also:

1930 Willis, Montgomery Co.,TX, pg. 156: John is enumerated as being 82 years old, widowed and living with his daughter 'Mrs. Charles Spiller' (Bertha Susan), aged 45 and widowed. He passed away on June 19, 1930 in Willis.

John and "Lina's" children were: William E. (b. 1870), Sallie W. (b. 1872), James Robert (b. 1873), Amos Wilcum (b. 1876), Bertha "Bird" Susan (b. 1878), John Thomas (b. 1880), Henry Ivy (b. 1881), Thomas R. (b. 1885), and Fred Elgin (b. 1894). John Franklin, his wife, and several of their children are buried in this cemetery.
