This photo is dated 1890 but the actual date has to be
between 1892 and 1902 as this was the time period the
JOHN W. AILES worked the rivers. |
These
two postcards are dated 1906 with the significant difference being that
the photo on the right shows the construction of the Charleroi-Monessen
Bridge in its early stages. |

from slightly different angels. All three photos show the
original Lock 4 with interesting background. |
