Newspaper advertisements in 1887, indicate the house was built new in 1886-1887. There would have been no slave labor at that time. Dr. O'Brien was born 1845 Ireland, was not a slave owner. Time and better information, indicate that the references to the house having been  "built in the year 1819 and by slave labor " , are inaccurate.   Bob Haefner 04/01/2007
