Norm Siebern
(born July 26, 1933 in Wellston, Missouri)
attended Wellston Schools and graduated from
High School in 1951. He signed with the New York
Yankees in 1951, and made it to the majors.
Norm Siebern had a twelve-year career in the
majors with six teams, hitting .272 with 132
home runs. He was a three-time All Star and also
won a Gold Glove
at the age of 22 years old.
As a Major League Baseball player, He was with
the New York Yankees, Kansas City Athletics,
Baltimore Orioles, California Angels, San
Francisco Giants, and Boston Red Sox from 1956
to 1968.
Siebern's best season came in 1962 with the KC A's,
when he hit 25 home runs, had 117 Runs Batted In
and a .308 batting average. What made this more
remarkable was the team lost 90 games, and had
no players other than Siebern that drove in or
scored 100+ runs.
Norman L. Siebern retired from baseball in 1968,
and lives in
Florida. |
