Missing ghost towns in TENNESSEE

HELP!

Various correspondents are looking for information on the following ghost towns in TENNESSEE. These are not listed on my main page for this state, nor do I have anything in my records on them. Are you able to help? If so please respond to me and I will forward the information on to those looking for the information.

GOODRIDGE:

“Hello, I am trying to gather information on the town my mother was born in, she was born in 1914 in Goodridge, TN a town she says was a railroad town, but when the railroad closed down so did the town.”

My Grandfather was born here in December of 1891 have you ever heard of this town?

“Do you have any pictures or info on the coal mine that existed in Turley, TN? My grandfather John Linsey Sexton worked there. Thanks, I can’t find anything on it.”

“I've heard there is a ghost town near Pikeville Tennessee in Bledsoe County. They say it is on the internet but I've searched a little and I can't find anything. I’d be grateful if you

could help me dig up a little info on it.”

“I have heard of a town built by Alcoa near Chillhowee Dam. Possibly in Monroe County.”
