KADITERAS MINE

One of a dozen or so gold mines located at Hite’s Cove.  Exact location not determined.

 

KANE MINE
Located in the Mariposa Mining District. Exact location not determined.

 

KENTUCKY HILL MINE

This hard rock gold mine was located directly on the Mother Lode vein system.  Location not determined.

 

KID SAXON MINE

KING & HARBOR’S SAWMILL (#1)

This 1852 era sawmill was one of the earliest in the county, and was located along Saxton Creek in Saxton Gulch in the Whitlock Mining District.

 

KING & HARBOR’S SAWMILL (#2)

In 1853, KING & HARBOR built their second sawmill.  This time it was along Sherlock Creek.

 

KING MIDAS MINE

This hard rock gold mine was located just north of Mount Bullion, in the Mount Bullion Mining District.

 

KING SAXON MINE

KING SOLOMON MINE (#1)

Located at Bear Creek (#1), which is near Midpines, southeast of Briceburg.  Actual location not determined, but it was in the Whitlock Mining District.

 

KING SOLOMON MINE (#2)

One of several mines in the Jerseydale Mining District (which was east of Mid Pines).  Actual location not determined.  Could these two King Solomon mines be the same?  (GBS)

 

KINGSLEY

KINSLEY

AKA – Kingsley

This gold mining camp was part of the Kinsley Mining District, and had a post office between 1896 and 1928.  The name of the Post Office was misspelled KINGSLEY.  It was located where the Bull Creek Road crosses Bull Creek, about 16 AIR miles north of Mariposa and 12 AIR miles east of Coulterville.

 

KINSLEY MINING DISTRICT

In Bulletin 193 (Gold Districts of California) the California Division of Mines & Geology groups a number of smaller mining districts into this one district.  Located along Bull Creek and the North Fork of Merced River about 16 AIR miles north of Mariposa, and 12 AIR miles east of Coulterville.  Placer mining began in the 1850s, but switched to hard rock mining from the 1860s-1900, and again in the 1930s.
