Born at Colburn, near Richmond, Yorkshire, 20 April 1784.
Member of the Royal College of Surgeons 1808.
Nominated as Assistant Surgeon by E.I.C. Director Charles Grant, 1808.
Appointed Assistant Surgeon 26 March 1809.
To do duty at Bushire, Persian Gulf, 25 July 1812.
Surgeon 17 May 1820.
Posted to 6th Bombay Native Infantry, 1822.
Furlough to Europe on medical certificate 1823; returned to his duty 12 June 1827.
Appointed a Superintending Surgeon 1 May 1832.
Reverted to Surgeon 28 January 1833 as the Court of Directors declined to sanction five Superintending Surgeons at Bombay.
Superintending Surgeon 12 February 1834.
Member of the Bombay Medical Board 15 January 1835.
Retired in India 15 January 1840.
Died at Cheltenham 15 January 1857.
