In consideration of John Robinson’s love for Anna WASTELL his daughter, wife of John WASTELL of Scorton, Esquire, and Leonard WASTELL, his grandson and heir of John:-
Capital messuages (where (1) lives), etc –
To the use of (1) and his wife Anne for life, then half to Anne WASTELL for life, half to Leonard WASTELL for ever, then Anne WASTELL’s half to Leonard WASTELL for ever.

Anne, my dear and loving wife, shall have and enjoy, without any wrangling, such part as by my death shall fall due to her. To all my servants 10s each. Residue to Thomas NORTON, my grandchild, he to be executor.
Codicil, Feb 1, 1653. 20s to Kath. NORTON, widow, the elder, and 20s to Anne, wife of John WASTELL of Scorton, the younger daughter.

All agree that John ROBINSON settled his property at Bolton on Swale in trust as follows:-
To the use of John ROBINSON and his wife Ann or the survivor of them for life,
Then half to Anna (their daughter) for life, then to pass to her son Leonard WASTELL and his heirs for ever; other half to pass directly to Leonard.
