Roster of a Family Divided

Roster of a Family Divided

Justice John McLean had been a voice on the national stage for federal union and the abolition of slavery. However, as America descended into all out civil war, even his immediate family, like so many others, was  split, with tragic results.

Wallace McLean Paprocki, in her book, Our Family, Past and Present (New York State, limited edition, 2004), does a very valuable service in bringing more attention to this area of research. No doubt there is far more drama to the story than mere facts can convey. Here below is a partial roster of this family's divide.
