He purchased for NHC (New Haven Colony) the lands eventually settled as Greenwich, CT, in 1664, the year following his death. .

Considerable controversy surrounds Feake, his illness, his wife, ¤Elizabeth Fones, their divorce and her subsequent marriage with Will Hallett. Anye Seton's book, "The Winthrop Woman", tells the story from Elizabeth's viewpoint.  -30-
