The Gallina Family, Kearns Ontario, 1959.
The following email was received in late September 2006 from Giuseppe Gallina who lives in Italy. I've re-written his words, but the gist of it remains the same. " I have searched for a long time for information about Kearns because my father, Stefano, was born there on 26 December 1958. " The attached photos were taken in 1959 -- in this period my grandparents lived in Kearns, and my grandfather worked at a gold mine, I think Chesterville, where he died in an accident when my father was about 6 months old. His body was not recovered from the mine. " I think it’s impossible for you to recognise the place where they lived by the background in the photos. I would like to know anything about Kearns and the Chesterville mine. What is there now in those places? " I know my grandfather only from these photos, so it’s very important for me know something about the places where he lived. "
