Passing the graveyard.

On every grave I hear a groan,

A sigh as old as creation,

Unmeasured in emotion -

Could it be, maybe, my own?

Notes:

Thank Goodness,

I went to the library in Yoakum & went thru the Funeral Home records that have been transcribed.

I found Mrs. Nancy Bowen 10/18/1854 - 9/10/1931 buried at Alexander. That would be Abraham's 2nd wife, right?

Also found quite a few others buried there that we had no records of - mostly newborn babes. Will send you a list later.
Just wanted to let you know about Nancy Bowen. B

From March 16 , 2002

Good Morning Ben,

An obituary was found at the Yoakum library yesterday for a John M. SUSTON born 8/14/1818; died 6/1908 at the home of William Rice, and buried at Alexander.
I e-mailed Anita & she said it sure sounds like John M. RUSTON, the 2nd husband of Amanda Garey.  I haven't actually seen the obit - Barbara York called me from the library.  I'll pick up a copy on my next trip there.  Any idea where Amanda might be buried?
