Baca Hamlin Needville resident married 5 children - 1949 in car on road burned to death - had come to visit cousin Arnold on Kubela farm, had supper with them, left to go home as wouldn�t stay, left in his Plymouth and ran off road, his body was found in back seat sitting straight up and charred beyond recoginition. Folks told him to get out of car but he wouldn�t, said he would stay in car, must have fallen asleep with cigarette, he was drunk, found by his cousin
Barnes Tom 6� very black military service Glen Flora - 07/30/1949 in road north of catholic cemetery shot by Gillie McClure 20 Barnes went to store to cash check, they refused, he cursed them and they threw him out of store and called law. McClure found Barnes a short distance put him in car Barnes took McClures gun and then Lampkin took it back and gave it back to McClure, they then put handcuffs on him. JP Inquest says: I found Barnes body on road he had been shot with small caliber gun hole in back of head, several wounds all over his body, police car was next to fence.

Cizek Royce Gene resident of Garwood - 05/27/1950 American Legion Swimming Pool drowned 12 bruises all over body, seemed to think it was done while someone tried to resesitate boy??? Bruises all over legs too

Edwards G.W. oil field worker 5�5 dark eyes and moustache, scar on forehead caused by previous wreak /brwn hair/ resident of Corpus Christi - - - heart attack 40 worked for Superior Oil in Columbus/O.C. Johnson took him to hospital where he died on the way
Humpfres Thomas A. 5�10 drk compl divorced insurance business - 11/01/1950 El Campo Henry Peyton house 401 Merchant St. heart attack or stroke 67 someone looked in his window and saw him laying on floor between bedroom and bathroom dead, cut on his head a lot of blood from hitting his head on the bathroom door
