WHARTON COUNTY HISTORICAL

Wharton County's Prestigious pioneer doctors, seven of them are identified - they were members of the medical organization, Associated Physicians and Surgeons of Wharton County organized January 12, 1899 and later re-organized as Wharton County Medical Society, Aug 18, 1903. (From left to right) The first doctor is unidentified, but thought to be Dr. Jack Phillips, organizing president in 1899, Dr_______ Richmond of Edna, Dr. Hugh Walker Gates, Unidentified but thought to be Dr. August (or Augustus) Saltman, Daniel Page Redwine of El Campo, Dr. J.C. "Coon" Davidson, Dr. Judson Montgomery Andrews, and Dr. Addison Lysander Linecum. This photo is from the estate of the late Maj. Gen. Howard Davidson's estate, son of Dr. J.C. "Coon" Davidson and it was loaned to the museum by the son of General Davidson, Stuart Davidson, Wharton County Historical Museum would appreciate any help in positively identifying all the physicians in this photo.
