DR. CLAUDE L. JONES
Dr. Claude L. Jones, one of the first doctors in the East Bernard area, Wharton County, Texas, came here in the early 1900's, from the state of Kentucky. He was loved and respected by the entire community which he served in his medical profession. He was born on January 15th, 1872 and died on October 29th, 1929.
Dr. Jones was a conservative man, being careful in his dealings and investments in farm land and cattle, but that did not stop him from taking care of his patients. many of the babies which he delivered, still live here and are now grandfathers and grandmothers.
His method of getting around to see his patients was on horseback or buggy. He filled his own prescriptions in his office.
