OFF SITE FAMILY PAGES
Please note: None of the following Family History and Genealogy Pages are associated with American Crossroads. Although I have not checked any of the information given in these pages for accuracy, I have not included any that have merely recopied one another into gedcoms without references. If no references are given, and information is not based on documents they have researched, the pages will not be included here for further examination.
For example, in the 29 "hits" I got for Henry Pennington the Immigrant, in Rootsweb's World Connect search feature, not one had accurate information for Henry, for his wife, or for his son Henry. Many had blended the identity of Henry the Immigrant and his son Henry. There is documentation of Henry's wife as Rachel, from St. Mary's county documents. Henry's son Henry married Elizabeth Boyer (as stated in her deposition in Maryland Chancery Court records 21 Sept 1721; also in Henry's 1702 will. But in the will, her name is is abbreviated Eliz.a., in the manner of the times, and so naturally this has been grasped upon, and denoted as Eliza.
Most descended from Abraham Pennington the Trader, for which there exists not one document to suggest he was the son of Henry, the Immigrant, corrupting their entire lineage. One lineage has been sealed for all eternity in the Mormon Church; its' reference for the information is the Ancestral File, a Mormon computer file in which anyone can submit any information. It is notorious for inaccuracy, especially for Pennington lineages, which have been thoroughly decimated there..
Many of these fictitious lineages cling to Mary Elkton as a wife of Abraham. There is no such person as Mary Elkton. There are NO Elktons anywhere. None. Nada, Zilch. Bupkas. Zero.
