Catherine
(French) Twitchell
|
Erected
to
the memory of
Mrs.
Catherine Twitchell
who
died May 28th 1824
in
the 50th year of her age.
In vain
did virtue guide and friendship smiles
The
weight of life hung heavy on her breast.
Her
fainting spirit hung beneath its toil
And
sighed, impatient for the hour of rest.
Farewell
my much loved mother released from pain
Possessed
the quit of thy wished abode
There
sleep till he who died and rose again
Till
joy shall wake thee with the trump of God.
