SS. VICTORIA:   

The ship Edward Stafford stowed away on from Sydney to New Zealand before completing his voyage to America as a cabin boy around 1904..

 

 

H.M.A.S AUSTRALIA:

World War 1 battle cruiser on which Edward Stafford served from 12 July,1913 to 3 January, 1920.

 

 

SS. CAPE CLEAR:

The ship that Patrick Donovan and his family emigrated on from London to Tasmania in 1883.  
The sketch is situated in the State Library of NSW and shows the Cape Clear at port in Hobart in 1883. 

 

SS. CAPE CLEAR  /  SS. TEKAPO  -  ANCHOR:

Cape Clear  was sold to Union Steam Ship Co. of NZ and renamed SS Tekapo. It broke up and sank off the NSW coast at Maroubra on 31 May, 1899.  The anchor was recovered in 1986 and is now situated at the north end of Maroubra beach.

 

 

SS. QUEEN MARY:

Troop Ship leaving Sydney Harbour on November, 1941 with Michael Henry Donovan and members of 9th Div. AIF bound for Middle East. 
Returned to Sydney with that Division 27 February, 1943.

 

R.M.S. ORIZABA:

The ship on which Annie Stafford and her family emigrated from London to Melbourne in 1889 and on which Edward Stafford returned to London on holiday with his wife and sister in 1897.  The R.M.S. Orizaba hit a sand bank and sank 286 miles off the coast of Perth, Western Australia on 15 February, 1905 with no loss of life.

 

SS. CHIMBORAZO:

The ship on which Edward Stafford emigrated from London to Melbourne in 1886. 

 

SS. ORMUZ:

The ship on which Edward Stafford and his family returned from London to Melbourne in 1897.
