GRAFTON - Fayre L. (Davenport) Nason, 73, of 36 Creeper Hill Road, died
yesterday in The
University of Massachusetts Medical Center, Worcester, after being
stricken ill at home.
She leaves her husband of 51 years, Forrest C. Nason; a son, Charles
L. Nason of Millbury; a
daughter, Amy R. Callihan of Virginia Beach, Va.; three sisters, Jean
W. Nason and Aurilla P.
Richardson, both of Grafton, and Phyllis E. Ford of Santa Rosa, Calif.;
five grandchildren; nieces and
nephews. She was born in Beverly, daughter of Stearns L. and Alice
(Wing) Davenport, and lived here
most of her life. She graduated from Grafton
High School in 1938 and from Becker Junior College.
Mrs. Nason was librarian and assistant secretary at Worcester Horticultural
Society for 22 years,
retiring in 1979. She was also treasurer of The Nason Co., which she
and her husband operated for
many years.
She was a member of Baptist Church of Grafton and its choir, and former
president of its Women's
Guild; treasurer of both the Grafton Council on Aging and Senior Citizens
of Grafton; a member of
Grafton Historical Society; and a life member and honorary trustee
of Worcester Horticultural Society.
She was also an election worker for many years at Precinct 1 in Grafton
Center.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Baptist Church of Grafton,
On the Common. Burial will
follow in Riverside Cemetery, Millbury Street. Calling hours at Robert
C. Roney Funeral Home, 152
Worcester St., are 6 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. Flowers may be sent, or memorial

to Friends of Grafton Elders, in care of Grafton Senior Center, 25
