SANTA ROSA, Calif. - Phyllis E. (Davenport) Ford, 79, of 440 Arrowood Drive, formerly of Grafton,
Mass., where she was a longtime greenhouse worker, died Tuesday in the North Coast Rehabilitation
Center.

Her husband, Ellsworth S. Ford, died in 1977. She leaves a son, Ellsworth S. Ford, of Santa Rosa; a
stepson, Robert Ford of Worcester, Mass.; two sisters, Jean W. Nason and Aurilla P. Richardson, both
of Grafton; nieces and nephews. She was born in Beverly, Mass., daughter of Stearns L. and Alice C.
(Wing) Davenport, and lived in Grafton 60 years before moving to California in 1980. She was a 1935
graduate of Grafton Memorial High School and attended Framingham State College, Framingham,
Mass.

Mrs. Ford worked for many years at Creeper Hill Orchard and Greenhouse in Grafton, which was
founded and operated by her father.

She was a member of United Methodist Church in Grafton and enjoyed gardening and cooking.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Robert C. Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester
St., Grafton. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Grafton. Calling hours are 3 to 5 p.m. tomorrow at
the funeral home. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions made to United Methodist Church, 10
