The Cincinnati Brewing Company, A Modern Plant Known by the Purity of its Products, The Republican-News, Greater Hamilton Edition, 1911

"The continued success of the Cincinnati Brewing Company is due in a large measure to the enterprise and fine business judgement of Peter Schwab, who is the president and founder of the big plant . . . Mr. Schwab has, by his skillful management of the affairs of the company, placed his concern upon a high basis.  According to history the Cincinnati Brewing Company first received its name in 1879.  In the year 1874, Peter Schwab purchased the Van Derveer and Reutti brewery (which had been owned by Ferdinand Van Derveer and Herman Reutti).  The name was changed five years later and during the succeeding years the energy and push of the man who organized the company and took over the former property, has placed the well known concern upon a solid foundation. . ."
